An initial fruity taste comes to mind but then a slightly acidic finish takes a bite. It's not bad everyday wine, but nothing special to write home about. Would probably benefit from more aging in the bottle.
Very solid Cab. Some fruit, spices and a little oakiness. Overall, pretty good.
This concluded my tasting at Ferrari-Carano. I wasn't impressed by this 100% Cab. It was too simple for an $85 bottle. This wine has nothing special and should not cost more than $20. Maybe with age it will get a little better, but given it only has that one specific Read more
The 2006 West Face is 64% Cab and 36% Syrah. It's a little unusual combination, especially in these proportions, but it works out okay. The syrah adds a little more tannins that I'd like in it, but I'm guessing time will take care to mellow it out a little. Good Read more
This is a blend of 85% Cab and 15% Syrah. It's very aromatic and a well-rounded bold wine. Still young and still powerful with some fruit flavors such as strawberry.

Shared this bottle with a group of friends after an amazing concert with Jake Shimabukuro. Amplus has been rated 91 by Wine Expectator. It is a nice Chilean Cab, somewhere between the fruit of Californians and the subdued character of the Old World. I recommend.
This wine is pretty bad. Nothing can be saved here. For $3 bucks, you get what you paid for.
This is a pretty interesting portuguese wine, mostly Cabernet with some of the local portuguese grape Touriga Nacional and a little Syrah. It's dry, like many portuguese wines, but quite pleasant, with some minor berries in the background.
This was a joke with a friend of mine. The wine was okay. Nothing very distinctive about it. Just an ordinary Cab, with some nuances of raspberry.
