This is an interesting wine. A mix of syrah (56%), pinot and zinfandel. It's unusual, but pleasing. There's some sweetness at first but it blends right in with the meal.

This is a pretty interesting portuguese wine, mostly Cabernet with some of the local portuguese grape Touriga Nacional and a little Syrah. It's dry, like many portuguese wines, but quite pleasant, with some minor berries in the background.

This was the fourth wine of the blind taste. It was my preferred, but by a small margin. This 2009 Syrah has a caramely finish, a hint of sweetness in a balanced ocean of tannins and hazelnuts.

Another blind taste of Syrah. Possibly the worst of the night. Very tannic, high alcohol perception, a weird tip-of-the-tongue tingling. No distinctive aromas.
